The semester has already started for two weeks, but my textbooks haven’t arrived yet and the students are getting restless. So I give class notes, and seriously considered giving away the lecture outline PowerPoint® presentation files until somebody reminds me why I never did:

Generally speaking, they already don’t read, and particularly hate textbooks. PowerPoint files that summarize whole chapters into a few slides with bullet points they love very much, for it means to them not having to read the dreaded textbook.
