English: to submit to one's fate.

A relatively common word, especially in literature, that I’ve never understood and known how to use (and never thought of looking up the dictionary). Now I do, though not the kind of word I look forward to using.

On a lighter note, the origin is Javanese – no wonder I don’t know it given my Bugis-Minang heritage.
